To solve this problem, without opening access to the country all interested person, the Japanese government in 1990 has simplified a visa regime for descendants of the Japanese emigrants, wishing to return on the historical native land. Throughout the XX-th century Latin America was the most popular direction of the Japanese emigration. Therefore the majority of descendants of the Japanese immigrants are Brazilians and other Latin Americans.
